We are excited for your student’s potential transition into different housing options, and sometimes navigating that process can be complex in Fort Collins. This panel, presented by Off-Campus Life, Housing and Dining Services, and Parking and Transportation, will offer options that are available to students preparing for their second year or beyond. Experiential Learning: Travel, Learn and Serve with Alternative Breaks
This session will explore the Alternative Breaks program and preview the wide variety of options to travel, learn and serve communities across the country. Alternative Breaks provide students with a week-long opportunity to travel across the United States during their spring breaks to engage in service with the local community while also learning about social issues and forming relationships with peers. Alternative Breaks are open to all students and are an incredible way to travel, learn and serve. Hear more from the Alternative Breaks team and explore the wide variety of alternative breaks available that address social issues including hunger, homelessness, education, environmental conservation and animal welfare.
Experiential Learning: Education Abroad
This session will explore experiential learning opportunities offered for students to enhance their academic learning through Education Abroad programs across the world. Parents and families will hear directly from Education Abroad staff about the various options for studying abroad including locations, program types and areas of study. Additionally, families will learn how to prepare, plan and finance Education Abroad experiences.
Housing Options for Students After the First Year
This session will share about the variety of housing options and important questions to consider for students and families when determining the best housing option for future years. University Housing will detail on-campus options, Off-Campus Life will provide considerations for students seeking to move off-campus and a local real estate partner will share information on the Fort Collins housing market.

Experiential Learning Opportunities Parent and Family Session
This session will explore experiential learning opportunities offered for students to enhance their academic learning while at CSU. Parents and families will hear from several campus offices, specifically on service-learning Alternative Break programs and education abroad programs that take students to both domestic U.S. and international communities.
Education Abroad Open Forum
This session will provide open question and answer time with CSU’s Education Abroad staff. Families will have the opportunity to learn more about education abroad programs and receive answers to specific questions.
