Threads of Our Community: A History of the Avenir Museum

Learn about the people who helped grow our collection and build our museum in this exhibition about the collective, community-supported history of a museum whose name, in French, means “future.” A virtual exhibit in collaboration with the Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising and CSU Libraries. This exhibit will go live October 2nd but can be viewed for the remainder of the Academic Year. This project has been made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Experiential Learning: Travel, Learn and Serve with Alternative Breaks

This session will explore the Alternative Breaks program and preview the wide variety of options to travel, learn and serve communities across the country. Alternative Breaks provide students with a week-long opportunity to travel across the United States during their spring breaks to engage in service with the local community while also learning about social issues and forming relationships with peers. Alternative Breaks are open to all students and are an incredible way to travel, learn and serve. Hear more from the Alternative Breaks team and explore the wide variety of alternative breaks available that address social issues including hunger, homelessness, education, environmental conservation and animal welfare.
