Homecoming Parade Volunteer Needs:
The Office of CSU Events is looking for resourceful and reliable volunteers, full of Ram Pride, to assist with the 2009 Homecoming & Family Weekend Parade!
The HCFW Parade will roll through Fort Collins and the CSU campus on Friday, October 9, 2009. Volunteers are needed to line up Parade participants and floats, secure the Parade route and assist in orchestrating this traditional fall event for the CSU and Fort Collins community. This year's Parade theme is "Celebrating the Past. Building the Future."
Time commitments for volunteers on Friday, October 9, are…
- 1:00-4:30 p.m. – lineup chalking, participant check-in, floats/participant lineup, etc.
- 4:00-6:00 p.m. – Parade route marshals
- 5:00-7:00 p.m. – wrapping up the Parade
- In addition, there will be a volunteer briefing meeting prior to the Parade day. More information will follow for those volunteering.
Volunteers may sign up for any of these shifts, as space allows. In addition to being part of a campus tradition, volunteers will receive a complimentary Homecoming & Family Weekend t-shirt to wear.

Homecoming Festival Volunteer Needs:
The 2009 homecoming festival is seeking individuals to volunteer for the festivities that will kick off Homecoming this year.
Join us Friday, October 9 to help create a memorable Homecoming experience for all Homecoming Festival participants. The Festival events begin at 1:30 p.m. with musical performances from regional acts and continues throughout the evening with a carnival and Homecoming traditions, including the bon fire, lighting of the “A,” and fireworks. The following is a list of volunteer needs and the shifts available. Please sign up at the time that works best for you!
Festival Hosts – 30 per shift (1 hour shifts) 1:30 – 9:00 PM
- Populate the information and volunteer check in table as well as circulate the crowd
- Provide information to guests about locations of festival activities
- Help people find emergency assistance if needed
- Help locate event organizers for customer service issues
- Guide people to parade once it begins (4:00 PM Shift Only)
- Notify CSUPD of any potential behavior issues
- Generally just make our guests feel welcome and encourage people to enjoy themselves!
Food Vendor Help - 5 per shift (1 Hour Shifts)
- Help set up food vendors from the FC community (11:30 – 1:30 PM)
- Host vendors and coordinate with festival organizers
Fireworks (6 PM)
- 20-30 people to help move perimeter fence around fireworks
Green Managers – 10 people per shift (1 hour shifts beginning at 2:30)
- Ensure festival participants are properly disposing of waste
- Empty receptacles from small bins to larger bins as needed
Cleanup - As many people as possible (9:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
- Initial Field Sweep
- Helping people exit
Cleanup - Requesting 20-30 or more (8:00 AM – 10:00 AM October 10th, morning after)
- Pick up trash and recycling from fields
- Supplies provided
